Assemblyman Jones: California a ‘Nanny State,’ Not ‘Land of Free’

The state legislator releases a holiday video in which he complains of burdensome California laws that he argues infringe upon our freedoms.

It's July 4th and Assemblyman Brian Jones, R-Santee, isn't happy.

Californians' rights are being “chipped away,” he maintains, and state government infringes upon citizens, leaving them unable to determine their own path for themselves and their families.

“This Independence Day, I encourage you to think about what this day really means as Americans ... It’s time to take our country back – it's time to reclaim the freedoms and liberties that are being eroded by our ever intrusive government,” he said in a video statement keyed to our nation's holiday.

He represents Mount Helix, Santee and Spring Valley, among other local communities.
