U.S. Marshals Arrest Utah Fugitive in La Mesa, Find Hundreds of IDs and Credit Cards

While conducting surveillance at a residence in La Mesa on Wednesday, Deputy U.S. Marshals assigned to the San Diego Fugitive Task Force encountered and arrested a fugitive from Utah and found fraudulent IDs and credit cards, according to the agency.

The fugitive, Saigais Rakesh Hallchand, 34, had been wanted for five years on suspicion of intent to distribute a controlled substance and possession of a firearm during a drug offense.

U.S. Marshals said Hallchand was arrested without incident. He is pending extradition to Utah.

Marshals said they found over 100 fake IDs and fraudulent credit cards when they performed a search at the residence.
