Two Young Men Seriously Injured By Suspected DUI Driver On Jamacha Road

A 21-year-old Alpine resident will face charges of felony DUI.

Two young men were seriously hurt Friday, when the 2000 Honda Accord in which they were traveling was struck by a suspected drunk driver, who ran a stop light in unincorporated El Cajon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At approximately 4:35 p.m., Dustin Beyer, of Alpine, was traveling northbound on Jamacha Road, approaching Chase Avenue. According to both eye witness accounts and physical evidence, Beyer failed to stop at the red light, and his 2007 Ford Econoline 350 plowed into the Honda.

The occupants of the Honda were transported to the hospital by ambulance. Beyer, 21, was arrested at the scene on suspucion of being under the influence. He will be facing charges of felony DUI, according to Officer Brian Pennings, of the CHP.
