Sheriff's deputies and officers from La Mesa and San Diego take two suspects into custody.

Two men who robbed a convenience store in Spring Valley Friday night were driving a Monte Carlo they had carjacked in San Diego just prior to the robbery, according to police reports. La Mesa police spotted the car on Massachusetts Avenue near state Route 94 and the two suspects resisted arrest but were detained, according to San Diego police.

The suspects—Gerry Bullard, 22, and Keith Davis, 26—were breaking into a car in Bayview Heights in San Diego when they saw a 21-year-old man getting into a 2004 Chevy Monte Carlo, according to San Diego Police Officer David Stafford.

They stole the car after threatening the man with an airsoft pistol and drove to the ampm/ARCO store at 9065 Campo Rd. in Spring Valley, according to Stafford.
