Stabbing Suspect Turns Himself In

A 28-year-old suspect in connection with a June 17 stabbing in unincorporated La Mesa turned himself Friday.

 

A suspect in the who was stabbed inside a residence in an unincorporated area near La Mesa turned himself in, a sheriff's lieutenant said today.

Manuel Morales Rodriguez, 28, turned himself in Friday night at Chula Vista Police Headquarters. He told officers he was wanted in connection with the murder of Jesse Nader, sheriff's Lt. Larry Nesbit said.

Sheriff's detectives were called out, interviewed Rodriguez then arrested him for suspicion of murder, Nesbit said.

Nader was found mortally wounded about 9 p.m. Sunday inside a crowded residence in the 4200 block of Mars Way, near Morning Star Drive, Nesbit said earlier this week. The suspected assailant fled before deputies arrived.

Paramedics took Nader to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, Nesbit said.
