Spring Valley Man Faces 15 Years Behind Bars

Tens of thousands of child pornography images are found in a file-sharing program.

A Spring Valley man was convicted of federal child pornography charges on Friday and faces a 15-year mandatory-minimum sentence. Prosecutors said David Michael McElmurry’s file-sharing program contained more than 41,000 images of child pornography.

Jurors in the trial of the 35-year-old defendant heard testimony about his previous contact with law enforcement in 2006, when he stated he was addicted to child pornography, had been viewing it since he was 15, used encryption and traded files online.

McElmurry’s file-sharing program included images of children as young as infants involved in sexual conduct with adults and other children, authorities allege.
