Shots Fired During Hookah Lounge Fight on El Cajon Boulevard

The La Mesa Police Department are looking for a man who fired a handgun outside Vanish Hookah Lounge Saturday, according to witnesses.

Police received calls that shots were fired around 7:30 p.m. at the hookah lounge in the 7500 block of El Cajon Boulevard.

"The fight spilled outside and a black male wearing dark clothing began shooting toward the business. No one was injured during the shooting," a statement by the police department said.

The suspect is described as a black male adult, approximately 6 feet tall, 250 pounds. The suspect was last seen wearing a blue shirt and dark pants. 

Witnesses said the man ran north on Comanche Drive after the shooting. A gun was found during a search by a helicopter and police but the suspect has not been found, the statement said.

Anyone with information is urged to call the La Mesa Police Department at 619-667-1400 or crimestoppers.com, an anonymous tip line where information that leads to an arrest can result in a $1,000 award.
