Robbery Suspect Strikes Again With Bomb Threat at US Bank

Wanted by the FBI, the man is suspected to be responsible for bank robberies in La Mesa and El Cajon.

Three separate law enforcement agencies are asking the public to help identify the suspect in two bank robberies, including one in La Mesa.

The FBI, El Cajon Police Department, and La Mesa Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify an unknown man believed to be responsible for two bank robberies.  

The latest robbery occurred Tuesday afternoon at the US Bank located at 490 Fletcher Parkway, in El Cajon. At about 2:30 p.m., the suspect handed a teller a demand note for cash that threatened he was armed with a bomb. He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money without incident.

Authorities said the suspect is believed to also be responsible for the July 5 robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank located at 5610 Lake Murray Boulevard, in La Mesa.

The suspect is described by witnesses as a white male, about 5’7”, 210 pounds, gray hair and mustache, in his mid-50s, and with a heavy build.
