Robberies Reported in Lake Murray, La Mesa

Two gas stations were robbed early Wednesday.

Two USA Gas Stations were each robbed at gunpoint within minutes of each other early Wednesday in Lake Murray and neighboring La Mesa, police said.

The first armed robbery at station at 8787 Lake Murray Blvd. was reported at 3:09 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford.

The gunman ran away with an undisclosed amount of cash, Stafford said in a statement.

He was described as black, around 5-foot-7, with a medium build.

At 3:18 a.m., the second armed robbery was reported in La Mesa, at 7974 University Ave., according to La Mesa police.

In the second robbery, a black man who resembled the earlier suspect walked into the La Mesa gas station and pointed a handgun at a clerk's face while demanding cash. La Mesa police said that the crook from the latter robbery was in his 20s, and wore a long sleeve red shirt, black beanie, blue bandana with starts printed on it and black jeans.
