Crime Caper Prompts Search by Detectives

Sheriff's detectives Friday sought two men suspected of holding up a Spring Valley 7-Eleven then robbing another convenience store in National City, authorities said.

The two suspects, who were wearing gloves and covered their faces, pulled pistols on the clerk and customers at the 7-Eleven on Grand Avenue near Jamacha Boulevard shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday, sheriff's Sgt. Carlos Medina said.

The robbers took an undisclosed amount from the cash registers and a customer's watch before fleeing southbound on Grand Avenue in a tan Lincoln Navigator, Medina said.
