Crime Report: Pricey Painting Reported Stolen from Building

The following information was provided by the San Diego Sheriff's Department. The suspects have not been convicted of a crime.

Wednesday, Dec. 7

An off-road motorcycle valued at $8,000 was reported stolen in the 10800 block of Jamacha Boulevard.

A residential burglary was reported in the 1900 block of Terrakappa Avenue. A television, computer and purse valued at $1,700 were reported missing.

A stolen car was recovered in the 600 block of Ramona Avenue.

Identification was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 10700 block of Jamacha Boulevard.

A stolen car was recovered on Grand Avenue at Saint George Street.

A stolen station wagon was recovered on Fabled Waters Court.

A car valued at $500 was reported stolen in the 10700 block of Jamacha Boulevard.

Thursday, Dec. 8

An armed robbery was reported in the 8700 block of Campo Road. A 21-year-old man suffered an apparent minor injury. A phone valued at $400 was reported stolen.

A laundry business in the 600 block of Sweetwater Road reported the theft of $500 in coins and $1,200 worth of vandalism.

Seven portable music devices with a combined value of $1,750 were reported stolen from Bancroft Elementary/Quest Academy.

A residential burglary was reported in the 3100 block of Rio Way. A computer valued at $700 and $440 in cash were reported missing.

Friday, Dec. 9

Joshua Thulin, 34, was arrested for a felony parole violation and possession of controlled substances in the 900 block of Sweetwater Road.

A license plate was reported stolen in the 2700 block of Central Avenue.

A van valued at $14,000 was reported stolen in the 8800 block of Cory Court.

Hilbert Daniels, 43, and Justin Vongoerlitz, 38, were arrested in the 9200 block of Valencia Lane. Daniels was booked for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance; Vongoerlitz for a felony parole violation.

Saturday, Dec. 10

A strong-arm robbery was reported in the 2600 block of Helix Street. A cell phone and $800 in cash was reported stolen, and an 18-year-old man suffered a possible internal injury.

Alan Whitfield, 19, was arrested for suspicion of rape in the 9900 block of Ivy Street. Bail has been set at $100,000.

A stolen car was recovered in the 2800 block of Sweetwater Springs Boulevard.

Sunday, Dec. 11

Two computers valued at $500 each were reported stolen from Spring Valley Middle School.

A car was reported vandalized in the 3900 block of Spring Place. Damage was estimated at $15,000.

Monday, Dec. 12

A church in the 2700 block of Via Orange Way reported $90 was stolen.

An auto carrier valued at $800 was reported stolen in the 1300 block of Grand Avenue.

A 30-year-old woman was cited and released for misdemeanor shoplifting at Kmart on Sweetwater Road. An item valued at $24.49 was recovered.

A car valued at $5,000 was reported stolen in the 3600 block of S. Cordoba Avenue.

Edison Valencia, 40, was arrested for a felony parole violation in the 8700 block of Jamacha Boulevard.

Tuesday, Dec. 13

A vehicle valued at $10,000 was reported stolen in the 8900 block of Lamar Street.

A car valued at $5,000 was reported stolen in the 2200 block of Johns View Way.

Joshua Chance, 37, and Nelson Morgan, 27, were arrested for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop on Bancroft Drive at Kenwood Drive.   

Wednesday, Dec. 14

A stolen car was recovered in the 9000 block of Lemon Street.

A painting valued at $16,000 was reported stolen from a building in the 9800 block of Ivanho Street. A television and household items valued at $475 were also reported missing.
