Police Looking for Suspects Who Snatched Backpack Near SDSU

The suspects were all described as black men in their 20s, with very short hair and no facial hair.

Police were on the lookout Sunday for three men suspected of assaulting a man near the San Diego State University campus and getting away with his backpack.

The victim was attempting to put his backpack and skateboard into the trunk of his vehicle shortly before 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the vicinity of Hardy Avenue when he was approached by the trio of suspects, according to SDSU police.

The suspects forced the victim to give up his property and kicked and punched him when he resisted, police said.

They ran off westbound on Hardy Avenue with the backpack and the skateboard, but dropped the skateboard along the way. The victim later recovered it, police said.

The suspects were all described as black men in their 20s, with very short hair and no facial hair. One was wearing a white T-shirt and gray basketball shorts, and another wore all black clothing.
