Pedestrian Struck on Route 125 in La Mesa Area

An apparent DUI-related accident left a pedestrian injured.

A male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on the right shoulder of state Route 125 in an apparent DUI-related accident in the La Mesa/Lemon Grove area early Monday, authorities said.

The pedestrian was struck on right shoulder of north state Route 125 around 3:20 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. A SigAlert was in effect until 5:30 a.m.

The extent of the victim's injury was unclear, although the CHP reported that the pedestrian was conscious at the scene. Paramedics took him to an area hospital.
The CHP reported on its website that the accident was DUI-related but did not elaborate.
