Navy Reservist Seeks Return of Phone With Videos of Baby Son

Lavonda Aldrich's car was broken into outside a La Mesa church and the phone she lost in the theft has precious images.

What kind of person would break into a car in a church parking lot? Lavonda Aldrich hopes the thief has a little heart.

Aldrich was attending St. Luke's Lutheran Church in La Mesa, according to 10News.com, when someone broke a passenger window of her vehicle and grabbed the purse she'd left inside.

Unfortunately, it contained an HTC Rhyme cell phone with videos and photos of the Navy reservist's year-old son.

It is the second time Aldrich has suffered such a loss. In Mississippi six years ago her belongings, including the originals and backups of photos of her older son, were lost in a flood.

Though she also lost a Kindle and her military ID, according to the report, she desperately wants the thief to just turn in the phone. She has no backup of the Rhyme's contents. They are almost the only documentation of her younger son's first year of life.

"Just give me my phone back," Aldrich told the station. "That's all I want. Give me my babies back."
