Now imagine how that might have gone differently if the kid in the car had pointed his own semiautomatic handgun, of any color, back at the would-be robber.

I was thinking how random it is to: a) Go out to your car at 1:00 in the morning? b) A gunman is waiting for you? Talk about a dark cloud of bad luck hanging over you...

This is an entirely believable and not at all ridiculous story.

Thanks for bringing the Trolley to La Mesa oh wise and wonderful powers that be. When do you suppose La Jolla will be blessed with this Trojan horse? My guess is NEVER!

The Trolley is just an added bonus for the outlying areas such as LM. Have you checked out the MTA buses lately? Mass transit has it's place, however, in a down economy it is definitely an opportunity for some to reach out to more lucrative areas.

Even if you have a CCW license, you cannot carry a loaded firearm in your car (except in Texas). The only exception to this rule in California is for sworn peace officers. They MUST keep loaded weapons on their persons at ALL times.
