Man Loses Laptop to 2 Thieves, Suffers Facial Injuries near Chloe and Buckland

Victim reported attack an hour later Monday at La Mesa Police Station.

A man walking at the intersection of Chloe Avenue and Buckland Street was assaulted about 2:20 p.m. Monday, suffering minor facial injuries when he was robbed of his laptop computer, authorities said.

The victim filed his report at the University Avenue police station about 3:20 p.m., said police Lt. Matt Nicholass.

The man said one assailant tried to take the while he struggled to keep hold. 

“A second suspect then struck the victim in the face with his fist,” Nicholass said.  “The suspect took control of the laptop and was last seen fleeing westbound on Buckland Street.  The male sustained minor injuries to his face, but did not need medical attention.”

The suspects were described thusly:

  • Black adult man, light complexion, about 25 years old, 6 feet 1, about 170 pounds, wearing a black T-shirt and blue jean shorts. The suspect had neck length hair and braids. He also had an unknown tattoo on his left forearm. 
  • Hispanic adult man, about 25 years old, 5-9, about 150 pounds, unknown clothing.  The suspect had short spiky black hair.
