Local Businesses Invited to Police Department Anti-Robbery Forum

The Nov. 1 event is open to all local business managers and employees.

Following a string of local robberies, the La Mesa Police Department is inviting business managers and employees to a forum on Tuesday, Nov. 1, to discuss prevention and safety.

The forum, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the La Mesa Police Department’s Community Room, will address robbery awareness and prevention, employee safety, and what to do during and after a robbery, according to a press release.

At the forum, officers will focus on 24-hour businesses, which are typically targeted by criminals during the evening hours, including convenience stores, gas stations, fast food restaurants, liquor stores, grocery stores, hotels and motels.
