Signal Pole Downed in 2-Car Crash at Lake Murray Blvd. and Aztec Drive

Nobody was injured, but median traffic signal was demolished in accident Thursday morning.

La Mesa police swept up debris and interviewed a driver Thursday morning after a two-car crash demolished a traffic signal pole on the north median of Lake Murray Boulevard at Aztec Drive.

Police at the scene said a silver Toyota Tundra and a white Honda, both with single occupants, crashed at the intersection, leading to the downing of the signal pole, about 10 feet high.

Nobody was injured in the accident sometime after 9 a.m., police said. Traffic was diverted briefly from the intersection. Police were unsure whether an exposed electrical line posed a danger.
