The North County Times earlier reported that Alderete was a passenger aboard the motorcycle, and the 51-year-old man steering the bike survived.

“A man authorities identified as Michael Inglett, 36, had been speeding along westbound 76 in an attempt to flee an altercation at Pala Casino Resort and Spa, Sgt. Scott Payson said,” according to a North County Times report.

The paper quoted Payson as saying the driver of the motorcycle suffered internal injuries, and the female passenger’s leg was amputated.

Inglett continued driving, but later pulled over and walked back to the scene, Payson told the newspaper. Officers arrested Inglett on suspicion of felony driving while high on drugs, the paper said.
