La Mesa USA Gas Station Robbed by Two Men

The gas station at 9600 Murray Drive was robbed at a little after 3 a.m. on Friday

La Mesa Police are looking for two men who robbed a La Mesa gas station in the early morning Friday.

Officers responded to a call from the clerk of USA Gas at 9600 Murray Drive, after 3 a.m. According to police, an employee reported that two suspects entered the store. The first suspect engaged the clerk in conversation and requested to purchase items that needed to be retrieved from the storage room. As the clerk began to ring up the items, the suspect attempted to grab them from her hands.

After a struggle, the suspect was able to grab the item, and the two suspects fled the store on foot, eastbound on Murray Drive.

The clerk told police that she believed one of the suspects may have been armed, because he held his hand in his pocket during the struggle, however no weapon was ever seen.

The clerk was not injured in the struggle.

The suspects are described below:

Suspect #1: White male, approximately 20 years old, 5’6”, thin build, wearing a black baseball cap, green or gray sweater and blue jeans.

Suspect #2: White male, approximately 20 years old, 5’4”, heavy build, wearing a gray t-shirt and blue jeans.
