La Mesa Police Will Have Extra DUI Enforcement for 'Cinco de Mayo' Sunday

As part of working together with other San Diego County law enforcement agencies and the "San Diego County AVOID the DUI" campaign, several additional La Mesa Police Officers will be conducting DUI saturation patrols.

The La Mesa Police Department recently made the following announcement:

The La Mesa Police Department will have extra officers on patrol that are specifically looking for drunk drivers this Sunday, May 5 2013, during the popular “Cinco De Mayo” celebration. 

As part of working together with other San Diego County law enforcement agencies and the “San Diego County AVOID the DUI” campaign, several additional La Mesa Police Officers will be conducting DUI saturation patrols.

This is being done as part of our on-going efforts to reduce the number of persons killed and injured in alcohol involved crashes, as well as to educate the public on the dangers of impaired driving.

 Funding for this operation is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
