La Mesa Police Searching for Suspects in Purse Snatching at Grossmont Center
The purse-snatchers drove up to the woman in a silver Ford Ranger and the passenger in the pickup leaned out of his door window and grabbed the handbag.
La Mesa police were on the lookout Thursday for a pair of purse-snatchers who stole a woman's handbag in the Grossmont Center parking lot.
The woman was robbed of her handbag while loading her shopping bags into her vehicle from a shopping cart parked near the Walmart at 5500 Grossmont Center Drive about 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, according to La Mesa police Sgt. Jim Huggins.
The purse-snatchers drove up to the woman in a silver Ford Ranger and the passenger in the pickup leaned out of his door window and grabbed the handbag, he said in a statement.

The victim fought to keep her bag and a short struggle ensued, Huggins said, noting the purse-snatcher eventually won out.
No one was hurt.

The purse-snatchers were last seen driving away westbound on Murray Drive.
Police described the passenger who grabbed the bag as a man with short brown hair, last seen wearing a white T-shirt. No description of the driver was available.
