La Mesa Police Seek Robbers in Drive-By Purse Snatching at Vons

La Mesa police are on the lookout for a man who leaned out of a car window and snatched a woman's purse off her shoulder, knocking her to the ground before he and a female accomplice drove away.

The man was a rear passenger in a newer dark gray Infinity that pulled up behind the victim as she was pushing a shopping cart in the Von's shopping center parking lot at 5630 Lake Murray Blvd. around 8 p.m. Tuesday, according to La Mesa police.

The car was driven by a heavy-set Hispanic woman with long hair in her early to mid-30s, police said in a statement. The male suspect was described as thin, Hispanic, in his early to mid-30s, wearing a black baseball cap, police said.

Though she was knocked to the ground, the victim was not injured, police said.
