La Mesa Police Assist with DUI Arrests Following Supercross Event

La Mesa Police joined law enforcement officials from Chula Vista, the County Probation Department, Escondido, San Diego, San Diego Harbor Police and the San Diego County Sheriff's Department on Saturday for a DUI enforcement effort following the Supercross event at Qualcomm Stadium in Mission Valley.

Officers conducted 112 traffic stops, 24 drivers were evaluated for driving under the influence and four were arrested for DUI between 7 p.m., Saturday and 3 a.m., Sunday.

One driver was arrested for driving under the influence of a combination of an alcoholic beverage and drugs, and she was also in possession of cocaine, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

Another person was arrested for a warrant for being under the influence of dangerous drugs.

In addition, three drivers were cited for driving on a suspended driver's license.

Two more drivers were cited for driving without a driver's license.

Another 13 drivers were cited for various traffic violations. And 6 vehicles were impounded.
