La Mesa PD to Host Meeting on Neighborhood Watch Groups

Those residents interested in starting a Neighborhood Watch for their neighborhoods are encouraged to attend.

The following announcement was made by the La Mesa Police Department on March 7, 2012:

On March 8, 2012, the will be hosting an informational meeting on how to start Neighborhood Watch. This meeting is open to the public and will outline the process of forming a new Watch group.

La Mesa residents are the “eyes and ears” for the Police Department. Neighborhood Watch groups allow residents to get to know each other while learning directly from La Mesa Police how to spot and report suspicious activity. The first meeting of a new group is the start of an ongoing partnership with the La Mesa Police Department that will work to prevent crime in the community.

Attendees will receive their own “starter kit” and leave with a clear picture of what to expect as a participant of La Mesa’s Neighborhood Watch program. Crime Prevention and Emergency Preparedness brochures and information will also be available at the event.
