La Mesa Man Claims Resurfaced Road Caused Him Major Injuries

A local man, who bikes to work from La Mesa to Kearny Mesa, said traffic lanes were repaved last month but that bike lanes were left in a poor condition.

La Mesa resident Terry Powers recently told 10News that while riding his bicycle to work on a newly repaved roads in Kearny Mesa he flipped off of his bicycle and cracked his helmet. Powers claims the roadway was resurfaced, but the bike lanes were neglected.

He claims the city painted right over loose gravel and a pothole along Balboa Avenue.

"They left the bike lanes in shambles … actually in worse condition than they were before," Powers told 10News.
