La Mesa House Fire Hurts Dog

Fire officials say a Wednesday morning fire placed a dog in "CPR status."

Firefighters extinguished a fire that broke out Wednesday at a La Mesa home.

The house fire in the 8400 block of Sunrise Avenue was reported shortly after 10 a.m., according to a Heartland Fire & Rescue Department dispatcher.

None of the residents was injured or displaced, the dispatcher said.

Fire officials said a dog was in "CPR status," but according to the dispatcher, information on its condition was not available.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation and an estimate of the damage was unavailable.
