La Mesa Student Accused of Posing as Girl on Facebook, Obtaining Nude Pics

The unidentified boy was expelled from La Mesa Middle School. He allegedly persuaded male classmates to send him nude photos for "revenge" purposes.

La Mesa police told Patch that the incident occurred on Feb. 15. When the boy was questioned at his home Wednesday, police said that he was interviewed, but never taken into custody.

Police also confirmed that the boy lives in El Cajon.

A teenage boy at La Mesa Middle School was questioned by police at his home, and accused of posing as a girl on Facebook after persuading fellow male students at the school to send him nude photos.

He was facing a possible felony (311.11a) child pornography charge Thursday.

The boy, whose name was withheld, has since been expelled, La Mesa Middle School Principal Beth Smith told 10News.

"That person on Facebook was asking to provide photographs of them in different attire or potentially nude," La Mesa police Lt. Matt Nicholass told 10News.

At least one of the nude photos was posted on Facebook, La Mesa police told the news station. The boy was detained and interviewed at his home, but was never taken into custody, La Mesa police told Patch.

An unidentified source told the news station that the boy wanted to get revenge against other boys at his school, possibly because he had been bullied. Smith said the boy never reported being bullied, according to 10News.

According to the report, investigators, worrying that they had an incident a possible child predator, traced the Facebook account back to the La Mesa Middle School boy.

The case was under review by the District Attorney's Office, which may file a felony charge of possession of child pornography against the boy, according to 10News.
