La Mesa 7-Eleven Store Robbed Wednesday

The man robbed the business at 8300 Parkway Drive around 2 a.m.

A man armed with a steak knife robbed a 7-Eleven convenience store in La Mesa early Wednesday, police said.

The man robbed the business at 8300 Parkway Drive around 2 a.m., according to La Mesa police.

He brandished an 8- to 10-inch steak knife, then passed a demand note to a clerk and ordered the clerk to hand over money, police said in a statement.

The clerk complied and no one was hurt, police said, noting the exact loss was undetermined.

The thief ran out the store and headed north on Buckland Street. Police described him as black and in his mid 30s, around 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds, last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a white "P" on the front, black gloves, blue jean shorts and light blue shoes.
