IPod Display Counter Smashed in Robbery at Macy’s in Grossmont Center

Three men, including one with a handgun, flee mall in tan car after 2:35 p.m. robbery, police say.

Three masked men, one armed, stole electronics from the Macy’s at Grossmont Center a little after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, say police and mall officials.

According to a police news release, three men described as either black or Hispanic smashed an iPod display kiosk at the mall.  A Grossmont Center security official said the target was a counter inside the Macy’s department store.

Various electronics items were taken, police said.  One robber was armed with an unknown type handgun, but didn't threaten anyone with it.

The suspects fled in an unknown type tan sedan in an unknown direction of travel, police said in a news release.
