Grossmont Center Security Guard Beaten by At Least 2 Men

According to police, the guard was unable to give a description of his attackers because it happened so fast. He was transferred to a local hospital to receive treatment on his injuries.

La Mesa Police are investigating the assault of a security guard at Grossmont Center, in an attack which occured late Sunday night.

The guard, who is recovering from his injuries from his attack, was reportedly on foot patrol on the second level of the parking structure at the shopping mall, when he was attacked by at least two men.

He was able to radio for help, and La Mesa police and Heartland Fire departments were called to the scene, according to 10News. When they arrived the assaillants had fled, and the guard was lying on the ground near a wall.

PATCH - You continue to amaze me with your photos. You love to show innocent La Mesa victims and always at their worst. I've seen your photos of elderly individuals after a traumatic car accident. Stories of those injured or upset are just as strong without photos. Give these people their dignity. Next time wait until these punks are captured and then show their mug shot.

I believe that is a wire service photo (maybe Associated Press?). Same photo is on the 10 News website.
