Authorities Monday released the name of a 38-year-old man fatally shot in a parking lot in front of a Rolando-area tavern in San Diego near La Mesa over the weekend.
Two unidentified men in dark clothing opened fire on Ernesto Rafael Gonzalez of City Heights with pistols as he stood outside Chelato's Bar & Grill in the 7100 block of El Cajon Boulevard shortly before 11:30 p.m. Saturday, according to San Diego police. The assailants then ran away.
Arriving patrol officers found Gonzalez bleeding, homicide Lt. Jorge Duran said. Medics took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators have identified no suspects or motive in the case, the lieutenant said.
