DUI Suspect Leads Police on Chase in Stolen Vehicle in Spring Valley

The chase, which lasted only about a minute, occurred just before 1 a.m. in the vicinity of 10499 Austin Drive, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

A suspected drunken driver in a stolen vehicle led authorities on a brief car chase in Spring Valley before he was arrested early Tuesday, authorities said.

The chase, which lasted only about a minute, occurred just before 1 a.m. in the vicinity of 10499 Austin Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol and the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

The motorist attracted a deputy's attention by running a stop sign, sheriff's Lt. J.T. Faulkner said.

In addition to drunken driving, the motorist faces an auto theft-related charge because the vehicle he was driving was reported stolen out of Chula Vista, CHP Officer Jesse Udovich said.
