Deputies Make Marijuana, Hash Oil Arrest in East County

Travis John Faircloth was arrested about 12:15 p.m. Friday as deputies served a search warrant linked to an on-going investigation into a complaint of elder abuse at 900 N. Fourth St. in the Granite Hills area.

Sheriff's deputies looking into an allegation of elder abuse at a home outside El Cajon came across a marijuana grow and a butane hash oil extraction lab, and the 30-year-old resident was behind bars today.

Travis John Faircloth was arrested about 12:15 p.m. Friday as deputies served a search warrant linked to an on-going investigation into a complaint of elder abuse at 900 N. Fourth St. in the Granite Hills area, sheriff's Sgt. Kelly Moody said.

The deputies found marijuana plants and a garage laboratory being used to make the substance known as honey oil or wax, according to Moody.

Moody said the residents were operating the lab unbeknownst to the 84- year-old woman, who also lived at the residence.

A Hazmat unit and detectives from the San Diego Integrated Narcotics Taskforce were summoned to dismantle the laboratory, Moody said.

Faircloth was later booked into the San Diego Central Jail for suspicion of various drug charges and crime against an elder, according to Moody and jail records.
