Deputies Arrest 11 in Trolley Detail
The detail took place on routes at the Grossmont Transit Center.
Sheriff's deputies arrested 11 people during a detail that targeted those with warrants or who were involved in criminal activity along trolley routes at the Grossmont Transit Center in La Mesa, sheriff's officials said.
Sheriff's deputies along with Metropolitan Transit System security conduced the trolley enforcement detail between 4 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Friday at the transit center at 8601 Fletcher Parkway, according to sheriff's Sgt. James Blanton.
The operation focused on apprehending those with active misdemeanor or felony warrants, as well as catching those suspected in illegal gang activity or other suspected criminal activity, Blanton said.

More than 230 citations were issued for various trolley-specific code violations, such as not paying the fare. Deputies arrested 10 adults and a juvenile, some who had more than one warrant, according to sheriff's deputies.
Blanton said the arrests included six misdemeanors, four felonies and a juvenile detention order.

Blanton said the San Diego County Sheriff's Department would continue its efforts to apprehend wanted subjects. Those with outstanding warrants were encouraged to turn themselves in at a court facility weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays.
