Spring Valley Man Arrested In Hit-and-Run Incident

UPDATE: 1:37 p.m. – The San Diego Union-Tribune is reporting that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the crash, and is suspected of driving under the influence.

After witnesses reported a man fleeing from the scene on foot, police traced the vehicle to a residence nearby – where Jose Espinosa, 21. According to the report, he was jailed on suspcion of felony hit-and-run, causing an injury, and driving under the inflence of drugs or alcohol.

The driver of the other vehicle, Yvonne Morgan of Lemon Grove, was taken by ambulance to the hospital with a head injuries, said CHP officer Brian Pennings.

Early Friday morning, a two-vehicle crash in La Presa became a hit-and-run, when one of the motorists involved fled on foot as the other was left behind injured, authorities said.

According to the California Highway Patrol, at approximately 6:19 a.m., the crash of a Chevrolet pickup and a Lincoln Navigator was reported on Jamacha Road at Sweetwater Lane.

CHP officers said that witnesses reported seeing someone running from one of the vehicles toward an unidentified complex.

Paramedics were called and tended to an injured person in the other vehicle, said a
Heartland fire dispatcher. The extent of the injury was not immediately released. Authorities are currently seeking additional information on the incident.
