Boy Pushed Down as Thieves Take Bikes at Northmont Park

Police say two 13-year-old boys were attacked by pair Sunday night.

Two 13-year-old boys were robbed of their bikes Sunday night at Northmont Park, police reported Monday afternoon.

According to La Mesa police, a man and an older teenager took the bicycles about 8:30 p.m. Sunday. The crime was reported to the police the next day. 

“The two boys were at Northmont Park when the man and older teenager approached them and asked about their bicycles,” said a press release.  “The man pushed one of the boys onto the ground then he and the older teenager took both bicycles. They were last seen with the bicycles south on Severin Drive from the park.”

The man was described as a Hispanic male, 20 years old, with dark spiky hair, a tattoo on his right arm and wearing baggy pants.  The older teenager was described as a black male, 16 years old, with short hair, wearing a purple shirt with a white design and jeans.               

 Anyone with any information on the suspects is asked to call the La Mesa Police Department at 667-1400 or the Crime Stoppers’ anonymous tip line at 888-580-8477; you can also email or text anonymously at sdcrimestoppers.com.  Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 to anyone with information that leads to a felony arrest.
