All-Clear: Bomb Squad Investigates Suspicious Package at Northmont Park

La Mesa Police and Sheriff's bomb squad have left the scene in the 6000 block of Severin and opened it to the public.

La Mesa Police and Sheriff's Bomb Squad investigated a suspicious device at Northmont Park, in the area of the 6000 block of Severin, and the area is now open to the public, according to a Nixle alert released by the La Mesa Police Department at 1:30 p.m. Friday.

Traffic lanes were shut down in the immediate area during the investigation, according to City News Service.

The Sheriff's Department announced it set off some small discharges in the area that sounded like fireworks.
