At Least 4 Injured in Two-Car Crash on Fletcher Parkway at Trolley Court

Firefighters said 5 people suffered minor injuries when their Toyota sedan collided with a white pickup truck. Police are investigating.

A Wednesday night crash involving a pickup truck and a Toyota sedan on Fletcher Parkway sent four or five people to Sharp Grossmont Hospital, authorities said.

The crash, still being investigated, closed the eastbound lanes of Fletcher Parkway at Trolley Court for less than an hour, according to La Mesa police Lt. Chad Bell.

Bell said four people were injured, and firefighters on the scene said five people were taken to the hospital with what they called minor injuries.

Bell said the crash was reported at 8:11 p.m. in the 8600 block of Fletcher Parkway—the same intersection where a 2-year-old boy was struck and injured by a VW Passat station wagon in August.

In Wednesday night’s crash, a woman was seen being placed in an ambulance, and firefighters said a young child also was hurt.

All the injuries were in the car, said a police officer on the scene. The driver of the white pickup involved in the possible T-bone crash apparently was not injured.

The leftside passenger door was dented in the accident, according to photos from the scene. The Toyota was facing west in the eastbound lanes of Fletcher Parkway, which were closed until about 9 p.m.
