7-Eleven Robbed Twice Within 24 Hours

The 7-Eleven on Palm Avenue is robbed for the second time this weekend. Nobody was injured in either robbery, but both suspects are still on the loose.

A Palm Avenue was robbed for the second time in less than 24 hours Sunday morning, according to police. Both bandits simulated having a weapon, but the descriptions of the men were different.

La Mesa police responded to a report of a robbery at the convenience store on 4253 Palm Ave. at 2:51 a.m. An employee told police that a man entered the store and approached the counter while simulating having a gun underneath a towel.

The man announced that he was robbing the store and demanded cash, according to police. He fled eastbound on Echo Drive in a small, dark-colored vehicle, police said.

The employee was not injured. It was not reported whether the man stole any cash or items from the store.

The robber was described as a black male, about 18 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 140 pounds and wearing a dark hooded jacket.

A man with a different description around 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning. He simulated having a weapon and hid his face behind a white mask or paint, according to police. He also fled eastbound on Echo Drive, but on foot.

The bandit in Saturday’s robbery was described as a white or Hispanic male in his 20s, 5-8, thin build, wearing a white and black hooded sweatshirt and black/gray jeans.

Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.
