Two assailants take money and Lotto tickets. Clerk suffers minor injuries but declines treatment.

A 7-Eleven clerk was struck in the face with a handgun Tuesday morning during a robbery of the store at 5650 Baltimore Drive by two armed men, police said.

The clerk, a La Mesan in his mid-20s, suffered minor injures but declined medical attention, according to the La Mesa Police Department.

The assailants, both armed with semiautomatic handguns, entered the convenience store near Lake Murray Boulevard about 2:30 a.m. and demanded the lone clerk open the cash register,

Emrik Sehoea of La Mesa, another store clerk, said later Tuesday morning that the male clerk stayed for several hours after the injury. The store owner came in to help shortly after the robbery, he said.
