Mild March Weather for La Mesa: 0.62" Rain

One of the region’s most unremarkable winters on record comes to an end with little evidence of change, leaving many wondering if southern California is destined to have just three seasons in future: spring, summer, and autumn. Only 5 of the past 30 days were designated as wet for the city, receiving a minimum of 0.01 inches of rain: not good considering that January through March are typically our wettest. The majority of the remainder (17 of 25) had daytime high temperatures above the historical average of 68.7°F, some significantly higher (high 80s to low 90s).

Short-term forecast (April 1 through 6th): Scattered showers rain remain in the forecast through Thursday with temperatures spanning the upper 40s to low 60s. Warmer, dryer, stable air returns to the region by Friday with daytime high temperatures reaching into the mid the upper 70s by Sunday.
