August's Warmth and Humidity Exceed Local Averages

Weather Window: August 2012 Extremes for La Mesa

The past 31 days were truly summer-like in San Diego County. Temperatures steadily climbed, and humidity infiltrated from the Gulf of California. The season's first "trace" of precipitation was recorded in the latter half of the month, but no more is in the immediate forecast. Longer-term projections are for a continuation of temperatures reliably in the mid the upper 80s throughout September. Summer officially ends on Saturday, September 22nd at 7:49AM PDT (autumnal equinox).
