Martha Jessie Goodwin—a 1931 graduate of Grossmont High School who was married 65 years—died Oct. 16, according to an obituary in U-T San Diego.
She was 99.
“After graduating, she worked as a hair stylist until her marriage to Robert N. Goodwin in 1934,” the obituary said. “The Goodwins were happily married for 65 years until his passing in 1999.”
She is survived by two daughters, including Carol G. Foerster of La Mesa, five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held Oct. 27.
