Dancer Lois Hubble Dies at 87

Lois Cole Hubble passed away Aug. 25 in La Mesa from dementia-related complications. She was 87.

Lois was born in Rhode Island and moved to San Diego with her husband Craig Hubble in the 1950s. Here she was a La Mesa-Spring Valley School District secretary who enjoyed gardening, family genealogy, hiking and dancing, according to an obituary published in U-T San Diego.

Hubble is the one-time president of the Qui Vive and Los Amigos dance club, which she attended with her husband. She was a parishioner at Palisades Presbyterian Church in the Allied Gardens neighborhood of San Diego for 50 years, according to the obituary.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years Craig Hubble, daughter Susanne, son Richard, brother Richard Cole and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Oct. 4 at Palisades Presbyterian Church at 6301 Birchwood St. in San Diego.
