KO Dance Company: (en)compass
Mounarath-Powell Productions brings back to the stage KO Dance Company as they present another full-length dance concert titled (en)compass at the Visionary Performance Space (7202 El Cajon Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92115) on April 11th-12th, 2014 @ 8pm.
(en)compass is a culmination of life experiences, observations, and explorations housed under a multi-directional evening of eclectic dance works. Several pieces explore a multitude of emotional under-pinnings associated with the notion of change. Under the direction and choreography of KO Dance Company Artistic Director Katie O’Rourke, the dancers move through a range of directions individually, and yet at the same time, they share an experience that enables them to move collectively, work together, and (en)compass the experience as a whole. Through this choreographic exploration, the dancers were able to participate and contribute to the creative process.
Guest choreographers include Spencer John Powell (Artistic Director of Visionary Dance Theatre) and Ramon Montes (Visionary Dance Theatre). The concert also includes a guest performance by the talented dancers of Helix Charter High School.
