Friendship Connection in Dinner Concert at UCCLM
The Friendship Connection sings folk, gospel and oldies, as well as more current songs. Enjoy thier music at a dinner concert Sunday, April 7.
It all started thirty years ago when a resident of a home for seniors spoke wistfully about the lack of music there. His son took the complaint to heart and the Friendship Connection, a group of local singers and musicians was born. They are still going strong today, performing at convalescent hospitals, senior residences and nursing facilities every Tuesday evening – their songs (singing
along encouraged!) tapping into the audience’s memories of years gone by.
On Sunday, April 7, 2013, their music – folk, gospel and oldies as well as more
current songs – will fill Friendship Hall at the United Church of Christ of La
Mesa (UCCLM) with a joyous sound at a fundraiser dinner and concert benefitting
the church’s Chancel Choir.
You’re invited! Dinner is at 5:30pm, the concert at 6:15. A free will offering
for the food and the Choir Fund will be taken. To ensure enough food for all,
reservations can be made by calling Patty Bender at 619-463-3385.
