I am sure you know about another power outage in west La Mesa. This happened about 1:45 am Sunday and lasted until about 12:45 Monday. This is frightening to me...second one in months (first one was "planned") The story this time is "there was damage to some underground wiring..." That is all that I was told was being released. Ok, when did the damage happen? Was there some sort of vandalism/mischief happening at that time at a place where someone would know it would be effective? If so that is one thing. If it was normal construction, then WHEN did that happen and why wasn't it instantly noticed and cause a of service outage at that time?
We need to know how vulnerable we are. It was also disturbing to me and my dog when about 3:00 am a huge truck was driving slowly down the street with big spotlights shinning in our windows. I did not see any police presence. I think we deserve more on this, and what is the City's protocol to protect its citizens in these instances?
