Miss La Mesa Pageant To Hold 4th Annual Scholarship Fundraiser

The Miss La Mesa Pageant organization released the following announcement on Sept. 7, 2012:

The Miss La Mesa pageant, in combination with Miss San Diego Cities, Miss Santee and Miss Rancho Jamul pageants, are teaming up to hold the fourth annual Fashion Show Fundraiser “A Night of Talent and Fashion” benefiting all of the pageant’s scholarship funds.

The Talent and Fashion Show will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22 at the
Steele Canyon High School Theater at 6:30 p.m. The models and performers
will consist of former contestants and titleholders in the various pageant
programs.  Wardrobe will be provided by local businesses including Santee’s Old Navy, of La Mesa and Grossmont Center’s PreVue.

The fashions will feature clothing perfect for back to school or a homecoming dance.

The fundraiser was established 2009 in an effort to raise scholarship funds for the Miss La Mesa pageant in a struggling economy.  

“Last year we raised more than $3,200 and this year our goal is to raise more than $5,000 to benefit all these wonderful pageant organizations” says Natalie Vandiver, Miss La Mesa Pageant Director. “All of the proceeds will go back into
giving the 2012 contestants and titleholders scholarship money to further
their education.”  

Last year Miss La Mesa 2012 Lindsey Palser was awarded a $1,000 scholarship and Miss Teen La Mesa, Jaclyn Combs a $500 scholarship.
