Save Time with FasTrak

Most of us have a perfected morning routine designed to save time. Our mornings are flawlessly planned to accomplish exactly what we need to do, timed to beat traffic as best we can, not a moment to spare. Some people make an effort to plan ahead – whether they choose an outfit for tomorrow, get the coffee machine ready to go before bed, maybe skip breakfast entirely, or grab a snack bar from a desk drawer.

These time-savers are helpful for those of us facing commutes that are drawn out by stop-and-go traffic, but rushing around the house in the morning can be a stressful start to the day. It’s easy to fantasize about what it would be like to have an extra half hour in the morning – to be able to sit down and enjoy breakfast and coffee at the table, rather than in your car. We imagine being able to actually read the newspaper, visit a favorite coffee shop, pick up the dry cleaning, or spend some extra time with the kids before school.

The only part of the day that’s more stressful than the morning commute is often the evening commute, when we’re anxious to get home after a long day of work. The time spent stuck in traffic, staring at the license plate in front of you, can seem wasteful. That extra time could be spent at home with family, running errands, or relaxing for a while before worrying about dinner.

FasTrak® is making these dreams a reality for many drivers in San Diego.  With the South Bay Expressway and I-15 Express Lanes as available commute choices, FasTrak customers save precious time and “Kiss Traffic Goodbye” during their daily commutes. If you had FasTrak, what would you do with the extra time each day? How would you like to save a few bucks at the pump every week?

FasTrak customers save time and up to 80% off the cash and credit tolls on the South Bay Expressway. This 10-mile stretch of State Route 125 runs through eastern Chula Vista between Otay Mesa Road and State Route 54, and is the fastest way for drivers in South County to get to Chula Vista, East County, Downtown, Otay Mesa, or Mexico.

FasTrak customers also are saving valuable time on the I-15 Express Lanes. These lanes provide 20 miles of congestion-free travel from State Route 163 in San Diego to State Route 78 in Escondido. Solo drivers can open a FasTrak account to take advantage of the Express Lanes, and carpools, vanpools, certain zero-emission vehicles, motorcycles, and MTS Premium Express Buses use the lanes for free.

A FasTrak transponder lets you breeze through your commute, saving time by automatically deducting the correct toll as you pass by tollbooths and under gantries, and saving gas keeping you out of stop-and-go traffic.

Visit KissTrafficGoodbye.com to open a FasTrak account or add a transponder by June 15 for a chance to win $100 in toll credits.*
